Ever After High Raven and Maddie

So After my Vasectomy I decided to by some dolls...

Specifically these girls Raven Queen and Madeline Hatter.

The Monster High is my wife's and will be review when she gets round to unboxing her.

So on with the Deboxing.

By Royal prerogative (and the fact she's the only one I have deboxing pictures of) we'll start with Raven Queen.

I like this box you can clearly see the doll and her accessories, not the stand but I'll get to that. The box is designed to be like a hardback book with the spine having the dolls name and image on it.

Getting the box open was made a lot easier by the design of the tabs as shown below.

The slot in the middle allows you just to squeeze them and they come out without tearing the box. This was a bit fiddly with some of the tabs but I manage to deconstruct the box and reconstruct it afterwards.
Here she is on just the backing card. At first I thought that unlike Monster High there wasn't a Diary or a stand. I was wrong the Diary is in the top right the scroll with Rebel on it. The stand was in a compartment in the 'spine'

Which is a nice touch.

After this it just a matter of removing the countless rubber bands, cutting the threads and the three plastic tags for the head. These three tags are my biggest problem with this packaging, it seems over the top. Surely they only needed the one?

Anyway with her highness liberated from the box lets look at her as a doll.

I love this doll. The line as a whole has the feel of the Victorian illustrations for the tales. Its a shame there are not unique face moulds but we get good quality hair and articulation.

So lets look a the outfit.

The three fabric pieces are well made the fishnets being proper tights and not just leggings is nice. The multi layer skirt very good, just with it being so short at the front it means as she stood on the top shelf I feel like I'm peeping up her skirt each time I look at her.

The plastic parts well a bit of a mixed bag. I really like the shoes and  bracelet. The collar...

I'm not a fan of it. Its has nice raven theming but its just a bit larger than I would have liked.

Her purse is nice not much to say other than that.

Warning the next part invovles full frontal doll nudity.

You have been warned.

So Articulation

There is articulation at the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips and  knees.

So she can cover her self.
Just about touch her face and vogue.
Star-jumps are about the best she can do so no sideways splits.

But she can do this, the opposite way round wasn't as good

This appears to just have been stiffness as the wife was able to get more movement out of her.

On the whole this is a great doll, there is something truly regal about Raven.

And now the time has come to speak of many things,
Of shoes and ships and sealing-wax

Of Madelie

This doll is insane.

I really could stop there, but you probably want some details.

Only two fabric pieces a nice pair of polka dot tights and a dress that makes me think of old fashion sweets.

The Shoes are tea cup themed and awesome, the cufts are like doilies and the necklass is odd.
There is also a ring which is tiny and was nearly lost seval times and is currently elastic banded onto her hand.

I think this is meant to be her purse but with this girl it could just be a teapot.

She does have painted on gloves but then again she might have just dyed her hands.

Also its worth noticing is that Maddie is on a shorter body than Raven and the rest.

And one final treat a quick comparision between Raven and a Monster High Doll, Abby.

As you can see Raven is stockier and shorter in the torso. They have less sway in the back and fuller bust. Her head is larger giving them a different look.
